• What it is: tells of an attack--styled a "war"--on Ulster by the queen of Connacht and her men, who attempt to steal a bull; Ulster's defense depends on the teenaged hero Cú Chulainn. It is the central text of the "Ulster Cycle," one of the four great cycles of Irish mythology.
